Abstract

This licentiate thesis by Wisdom Kanda investigates governmental initiatives and business concepts designed to promote the export of environmental technology. The study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to gather data from national governments, private Swedish environmental technology firms, and Swedish companies. It explores how different governments facilitate the export of environmental technologies and evaluates the perceived effectiveness of these initiatives. The thesis identifies key components of business concepts for exporting environmental technologies, such as market regulations, financial support, resources, partnerships, and legitimacy. The findings highlight the importance of a balanced approach between generic and tailored export promotion strategies to enhance system-wide environmental improvements.

Abstract

Combining cutting-edge technologies and techniques with existing approaches, this book equips you with the tools and knowledge needed to develop new energy-efficient and environmentally friendly RFID systems. As well as covering RFID basics, a wide range of new technologies is discussed, including biodegradable and recyclable material use, energy scavenging, passive and chipless architectures, RFID passive sensors, networked RFID and RFID sensors, organic electronic devices, textile electronics, and distributed and wide area electronics. Providing a clear description of how RFID technology can enable the evolution of the Internet of Things, the book guides you down the path to facing new challenges as we move towards ubiquitous sensing for smart environments and a networked society. This is an ideal guide for researchers in academia and industry, technical managers, and graduate students in RF and wireless communications.

Abstract

Face aux signaux alarmants de la crise globale - croissance en berne, tensions sur l'energie et les matieres premieres, effondrement de la biodiversite, degradation et destruction des sols, changement climatique et pollution generalisee - on cherche a nous rassurer. Les technologies " vertes " seraient sur le point de sauver la planete et la croissance grace a une quatrieme revolution industrielle, celle des energies renouvelables, des reseaux intelligents, de l'economie circulaire, des nano-bio-technologies et des imprimantes 3D.Plus consommatrices de ressources rares, plus difficiles a recycler, trop complexes, ces nouvelles technologies tant vantees nous conduisent pourtant dans l'impasse. Ce livre demonte un a un les mirages des innovations high tech; , et propose de prendre le contre-pied de la course en avant technologique en se tournant vers les low tech; , les " basses technologies ". Il ne s'agit pas de revenir a la bougie, mais de conserver un niveau de confort et de civilisation agreables tout en evitant les chocs des penuries a venir. S'il met a bas nos dernieres illusions, c'est pour mieux explorer les voies possibles vers un systeme economique et industriel soutenable dans une planete finiePhilippe Bihouix est ingenieur. Specialiste de la finitude des ressources minieres et de son etroite interaction avec la question energetique, il est coauteur de l'ouvrage Quel futur pour les metaux ?; , 2010;PRIX DE LA FONDATION DE L'ECOLOGIE POLITIQUE 2014;;
