This publication summarizes and extends methodology of feature selection (FS) and pattern recognition in search for competitiveness factors and methodology of corporate financial performance (CFP) measurement. Several methods were evaluated and Dependency-Aware Feature Ranking combined with non-linear regression model were applied. Also, this publication suggests and verifies methodology of interpretation results of the FS methods. For start was employed multidimensional linear regression, succeeded by clustering companies according to the factors identified by FS into homogenous groups, dividing them into quartiles based on their CFP and identifying similar values of the factors. This way was captured the non-linearity in the data.

Too rapidly rising carbon taxes or the introduction of subsidies for renewable energies induce owners of fossil fuel reserves to increase their extraction rates for fear of their reserves becoming worthless. Fossil fuel use is thus brought forward. The resulting acceleration of global warming and counter-productivity of well-intended climate policy has been coined the Green Paradox. In a world moving towards services, driving service productivity is a central challenge for leaders and members of all types of organisations: for service businesses there is a clear need to be “productive”, but it is far less clear what this exactly means. The Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) inventory model first appeared in 1913, and in its centennial, it is still one of the most important inventory models.  Despite the abundance of both classical and new research results, there was (until now) no comprehensive reference source that provides the state-of-the-art findings on both theoretical and applied research on the EOQ and its related models. This edited handbook puts together all these interesting works and the respective insights into an edited volume. The handbook contains papers which explore both the deterministic and the stochastic EOQ-model based problems and applications. It is organized into three parts: Part I presents three papers that provide an introduction and review of various EOQ related models. Part II includes four technical analyses on single-echelon EOQ-model based inventory problems. Part III consists of five papers on applications of the EOQ model for multi-echelon supply chain inventory analysis.
