The subject of this Landolt-Börnstein volume is to present data on the magnetic properties of materials under pressure. Data for magnetic single metals, disordered and ordered alloys and compounds containing 3d elements as magnetic atoms are presented. This comprehensive set of data shows crystallographic data (space group, lattice constants) and magnetic properties such as magnetic moment, magnetic transition temperature, magnetization, magnetic structure, and others. Pressure derivatives or pressure coefficients of magnetic properties are given numerically for each material. In addition, pressure dependencies of magnetic properties and magnetic phase diagrams are also given graphically. As well known, the data-compiling principle in the Landolt-Bӧrrnstein series is to choose the best reliable values from many available experimental data.

Nanomagnetism: Fundamentals and Applications is a complete guide to the theory and practical applications of magnetism at the nanometer scale. It covers a wide range of potential applications including materials science, medicine, and the environment. A tutorial covers the special magnetic properties of nanoscale systems in various environments, from free clusters to nanostructured materials. Subsequent chapters focus on the current state of research in theory and experiment in specific areas, and also include applications of nanoscale systems to synthesizing high-performance materials

Many materials used in devices intended for converting the energy or information in its crystal structure belong to the layered ones. These materials include transition metal dichalcogenides, intercalated graphite compounds, semiconductors with superlattice, synthetic metals based on organic compounds, etc. This book examines the influence of nonparabolicity effects on magnetic, electric and thermoelectric properties of layered crystals with closed or transient Fermi surfaces, although most researchers believe that these effects can be pronounced only for high-open Fermi surfaces. The book can

James Clerk Maxwell (1831-1879), first Cavendish Professor of Physics at Cambridge, made major contributions to many areas of theoretical physics and mathematics, not least his discoveries in the fields of electromagnetism and of the kinetic theory of gases, which have been regarded as laying the foundations of all modern physics. This work of 1881 was edited from Maxwell's notes by a colleague, William Garnett, and had formed the basis of his lectures. Several of the articles included in the present work were also included in his two-volume Treatise on Electricity and Magnetism (1873), also reissued in this series. The preface indicates that the two works were aimed at somewhat different audiences, the larger work assuming a greater knowledge of higher mathematics. Maxwell had also modified some of his methodology, and hoped to encourage the reader to develop an understanding of concepts relating to electricity.

For years, this textbook has been held in high esteem for conveying information in a pedagogically challenging and modern way. The authors do not just present the full spectrum of solid-state physics but also provide an easily comprehensible, structured introduction to further special topics. Alongside an additional chapter on antiferromagnetic resonance, the topics superconductivity and topological quantum materials have been fully updated.
