The Trobriand Islanders' eschatological belief system explains what happens when someone dies. Bronislaw Malinowski described essentials of this eschatology in his articles ""Baloma: the Spirits of the Dead in the Trobriand Islands"" and ""Myth in Primitive Psychology"".
