The Brussels-based Emile Verhaegen architectural practice has wished, on the occasion of its 50st year of activity, to show his buildings through the eyes of a photographer and five Belgian writers because 'Architecture for Life' is, indeed, as much an architectural planning principle to which the firm is attached, as a commitment to a lasting humane architecture that takes into account the specific needs of the users and the inhabitants of the buildings. Sébastien Reuzé's photography springs from subtle observations, contemplative attitudes, and random itineraries. The artist's photographs use various supports, ranging from views of the sky or land to apartment complexes, administrative buildings, domestic interiors, motorways, and airport runways. His photographic methodology modifies the spectator's approach, as well as our perceptions of and relationships with space and our daily surroundings.
