Dit boek bevat een overzicht van het actuele aanbod aan digitale draadloze communicatietechnieken.Technieken zoals Dect,WiFi, Bluetooth, ZigBee en Ultra Wideband (UWB) komen uitgebreid aan bod. Eveneens worden drie bouwprojecten beschreven waarmee de lezer zelfstandig draadloze systemen kan bouwen. 
Het eerste deel-van-het boek bevat de ontstaansgeschiedenis en theoretische achtergrond van alle technieken. Het behandelt onder andere modulatie, kanaalvorming en het gedrag van hoogfrequente signalen. In dit deel worden ook de netwerkstructuur en het OSI model beschreven. In deel twee worden drie bouwprojecten gepresenteerd met Bluetooth, ZigBee en een demonstratiekit voor UWB. Tot slot is een verklarende woordenlijst opgenomen.

NTMS’2007 is the first IFIP International Conference on New Technologies, Mobility and Security that was held from May 2 to May 4, 2007 in Paris, France.
