Abstract

Considering the "aesthetics of mobility", this unconventional reader explores ideas of what it is to "roam", under themes of narrative, representation, glocalization, telematics and velocity. Against an architectural understanding of urban spaces and mobility, the book engages with discourses from art, cultural studies, design and politics. The texts are designed to be read at different speeds, so that design projects are interspliced amongst essays and soundbites, provoking the reader into taking new views about our increasingly mobilized society.
