Face à l'indiscipline, l'hyperactivité et l'inattention sans cesse croissantes dans l'enseignement spécial, nous avons tenté d'apporter un essai de solution grâce aux techniques de modification comportementale. Ainsi, nous avons appliqué, en collaboration avec les enseignants concernés, un système d'économie de jetons, la technique d'attention sélective et le principe du modeling, et ce, dans 2 classes d'enseignement spécial primaire de type 1 et 8. Les résultats de notre expérience montrent que les 2 techniques précitées sont efficaces pour réduire les comportements sociaux inadéquats, moyennant le respect et l'application rigoureuse du programme. Toutefois, le coût important en temps et la formation préalable que nécessite ce type d'approche constituent un frein à son application systématique.
