The book is part of an action-research project (MinViTI) dedicated to the accompaniment and support of youngsters who have a family member hospitalized in ICU. The book is designed for children aged 6 to 10 and their parents, so that, through the story of the Leo bear and his mother - cared for by the animals in the cave in the forest - they can find a way to recognize and share their emotions, activate resources and prepare for a possible visit to the Intensive Care Unit.The book is promoted in collaboration with the Intensive project, it, a scientific initiative supported by SIAARTI, ANIARTI, AAROI-EMAC, dedicated to the humanization of ICU care. Il libro fa parte di un più ampio progetto di ricerca-azione (MinViTI) dedicato all’accompagnamento e al supporto dei minori che hanno un familiare ricoverato in Terapia Intensiva. Il libro è pensato per i bambini da 6 ai 10 anni e per i loro genitori, affinché, attraverso la storia dell’orsetto Leo e della sua mamma- curata dagli animali nella caverna del bosco- possano trovare un modo per riconoscere e condividere le loro emozioni, attivare risorse e prepararsi ad un eventuale visita presso il reparto di Terapia Intensiva. Questo volume è promosso in collaborazione con il progetto Intensiva,it, un’iniziativa scientifica supportata da SIAARTI, ANIARTI, AAROI-EMAC, dedicata all’umanizzazione delle cure in Terapia Intensiva.

This is an Open Access book. How can we make work better? It is an important question, one that the Dutch government, employers' organizations and trade unions have been grappling with. People work to make money. But work also inspires self-respect, shapes our identity and gives us a sense of belonging -- especially when the work we do is good. Good work is essential to prosperity in the broadest sense: to the quality of life we experience as individuals, to the economy and to society as a whole. Work in the Netherlands could be better. In Better Work. The automation, flexibilization and intensification of work, the Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy offers nine recommendations to help all workers gain more control over their money, their work and their lives -- the three basic conditions of good work. While the primary responsibility for good work lies with employers, the government can help through legislation and regulations, supervision and subsidies, and through its tenders.

Het lijkt erop dat de opdracht voor de mens om gezond te leven nooit zo groot was als bij het begin van de 21ste eeuw. Dagelijks worden we geconfronteerd met berichten over gezondheidsproblemen,depressies, relatieproblemen, verslavingen en zelfs een hoogzelfmoordcijfer. De oorzaken hiervan zijn divers en complex, maar een belangrijke factor in die verwikkelingen is de manier waarop mens en arbeid in onze hoogtechnologische Westerse samenleving van elkaar vervreemd zijn. Terwijl arbeid de mensen dient om een gelukkig en positief leven te kunnen leiden, lijkt hij hun levenskwaliteit voortdurend onder druk te zetten. In een wereld waarin relaties steeds vluchtiger en minder duurzaam worden, lijkt stress de trouwste levensgezel van de moderne man en vrouw, terwijl de geborgenheid van rituelen en symbolen geruisloos verdwijnt.Ongezonde werk- en leefstijlen beschadigen de moderne man en vrouw steeds meer. De auteur gaat op zoek naar oplossingen voor deze problemen. Een daadwerkelijke preventie van de moderne gezondheidsproblemen vereist de ontwikkeling van een nieuwe visie op arbeid,namelijk als bezielend levenswerk. De moderne mens moet zijn gezondheid weer in eigen handen nemen. Daarvoor zijn levensenthousiasme en inspirerende bezieling nodig, als het tweespan voor een krachtdadige persoonlijkheid die de levensloop steeds verder ontplooit. Dit boek richt eerst de aandacht op die gebieden die meestal buiten het traditionele arbeidsveld blijven, ook al leveren zij de bezielende energie om de betaalde job met arbeidsvreugde uit te voeren. Het levensgeluk van de mens gaat gebukt onder de tirannie van de effectiviteit; het ontplooit zich in het teken van de affectiviteit. Ontmoeting en verbondenheid zijn leefruimtes voor geluk en gezondheid. Acht relatieconcepten worden in hun dagelijkse eenvoud beschreven. Als leefpatronen zijn het gezondheidsstrategieën op de levensweg, die altijd ook een (om)weg is naar het geluk. Zij laten een mens de gezonde levenslust ervaren en ervan genieten.Piet Nys is psychiater-seksuoloog en emeritus-hoogleraar aan de K.U.Leuven. Hij studeerde filosofie, psychologie, geneeskunde, lichamelijke opvoeding en seksuologie in Hamburg en Leuven. Hij is betrokken bij workshops, seminaries en trainingen in binnen- en buitenlanden aan het BeNeLux University Centre. Hij publiceerde talloze artikels en boeken over huwelijk, gezin, seksualiteit, (on)vruchtbaarheid, psychosomatiek, gesprekstherapie en gelukservaring.
