It is now clearly established that some proteins or protein regions are devoid of any stable secondary and/or tertiary structure under physiological conditions, but still possess fundamental biological functions. These intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) or regions (IDRs) have peculiar features due to their plasticity such as the capacity to bind their biological targets with high specificity and low affinity, and the possibility of interaction with numerous partners. A correlation between intrinsic disorder and various human diseases such as cancer, diabetes, amyloidoses and neurodegenerative diseases is now evident, highlighting the great importance of the topic. In this volume, we have collected recent high-quality research about IDPs and human diseases. We have selected nine papers which deal with a wide range of topics, from neurodegenerative disease to cancer, from IDR-mediated interactions to bioinformatics tools, all related to IDP peculiar features. Recent advances in the IDPs/IDRs issue are here presented, contributing to the progress of knowledge of the intrinsic disorder field in human disease.

The Special Issue presents information on the progress made in recent years in cereals’, legumes’, and oilseed grain products’ rheology and quality. This Special Issue capitalizes the experience of authors in grain processing for obtaining food products qualitatively improved based on the quality of raw materials used and applied technologies or intended for special nutrition, such as gluten-free one or with low sodium content. This Special Issue also presents some issues related to byproduct valorization through circular economy approaches obtained from the processing of different cereals and oilseeds grains and new methods for rapid assessment of bread quality.

The G.B. Elyakov Pacific Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Far-Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (PIBOC FEB RAS) was founded in 1964 in Vladivostok in the Far East of Russia. Over many years, we have been carrying out studies on the natural products of both marine and terrestrial origin. In collaboration with many Russian and foreign scientists, we have investigated many hundreds of diverse biomolecules, including steroids and terpenoids, quinoid compounds and alkaloids, polysaccharides and lipids, enzymes and lectins, proteins, and peptides. The Institute has a collection of marine microorganisms (KMM) PIBOC, which includes more than 4000 strains of marine bacteria and more than 1000 strains of marine fungi. The biological activity of natural compounds is also being studied. This book includes the 14 manuscripts which covered almost all aspects of PIBOC research activity in the fields of bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry, organic synthesis of natural compounds, marine microbiology, and genetic engineering, and we hope it will provide interesting new information for scientists working in these fields.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease leading to joint inflammation and destruction. Treatment of RA includes the use of conventional (cs), biologic (b) disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), and oral or intraarticular (IA) glucocorticoids (GCs). All different classes of drugs have shown to halt disease progression in clinical studies. In real life, a physician has more options than just adding or switching to a new ts/bDMARD if any kind of DMARDs has failed. They can modify or optimize the therapy with concomitant csDMARDs, and oral or IA-GC can be added to the treatment regimen. The EULAR states that therapeutic adjustment including the "optimization of csDMARDs dose or route of administration or intra-articular injections of GCs" is recommended. Thus, a new therapeutic agent can be embedded in a whole strategy with parallel optimization of the csDMARD and GC treatment. The idea of treating to target (T2T) for the treatment of RA patients has been around since the late 1990s. Many clinical studies (Ticora, BsSt, Camera) have demonstrated the superiority of a T2T approach. When I talk to physicians, I understand that most of them only rarely inject joints with GC. Therefore, I would like to create an issue on the T2T approach in reality including primary data, reviews, and real-life data demonstrating the general opinion and execution of T2T in treating RA.

This book—entitled “Mechanisms and Novel Therapeutic Approaches for Gynecologic Cancer”—was edited as a Special Issue of Biomedicines, focusing on basic research such as genomics, epigenomics, and proteomics, as well as clinical research in the field of gynecologic oncology. The number of patients with gynecological cancer has been increasing worldwide due to its high lethality and lack of early detection tools and effective therapeutic interventions. In this regard, basic research on its pathophysiology and novel molecular targeting intervention is required to improve the prognosis of gynecologic cancer. This book contains 13 papers, including 8 original research papers and 5 reviews focusing on the basic research of gynecologic oncology. The reader can learn about state-of-the-art research and obtain extensive knowledge of the current advances in the field of gynecologic oncology. It is my hope that this book contributes towards the progress of gynecologic oncology.

Flow analysis is an automatic, precise and fast way to perform analytical tests. Flow instruments are used for clinical and pharmaceutical analyses, quality control of industrial products, monitoring of environmental pollution and many other fields. The book presents the latest methodological, technical and instrumental achievements in flow analysis. It shows new possibilities for the miniaturization and full mechanization of flow systems, together with examples of their interesting application. The proposed solutions contribute to reducing the amount of used reagents and waste, as well as increasing the safety of working with hazardous reagents, resulting in modern devices operating in accordance with the principles of green chemistry.
