Emulations est une revue de sciences sociales fondée en 2006 qui a pour objectif d'offrir un espace de communication aux jeunes (étudiants) chercheurs belges et francophones. Basée en Belgique, elle veut ouvrir un dialogue entre les différentes universités et institutions belges et francophones en valorisant l'originalité de la recherche étudiante.

Moisés González Navarro es profesor emérito de El Colegio de México, y a su iniciativa se debe la redacción del trabajo con que se abre este libro y que versa sobre José Medina Echavarría en México. A ese minucioso trabajo, nutrido en los archivos históricos de El Colegio de México y del Fondo de Cultura Económica, sigue un conjunto documental de más de ciento cincuenta cartas del eminente sociólogo español. Francisco Ayala, Daniel Cosío Villegas, Alfonso Reyes y, desde luego, el propio José Medina Echavarría, entre otros muchos interlocutores y corresponsables, alternan sus letras y voces en el curso de este repertorio documental que busca dar cuenta de las condiciones de su trabajo en esos años.

Government leaders need high-quality and responsive advice to make informed decisions, particularly to help restore long-term economic growth. Indeed, in many countries ministerial advisors are appointed primarily in order to increase the responsiveness of government and help address strategic challenges faced by government leaders. At the same time, their sheer number and the opacity surrounding their status have prompted widespread concern. These are two findings that emerged from an OECD survey in 2010 into the work of ministerial advisors across 27 countries. This report examines the survey’s findings in order to better understand the important role advisors play and how they are managed. It considers why ministers use their services, how they are appointed, the special status they enjoy, the concerns they have prompted in the general public, and how reform may make them more accountable  and improve the transparency of their status.

Dieses Buch analysiert die Praxis der wissenschaftlichen Politikberatung mit den Mitteln der Theorie der Interaktionssysteme und der Professionssoziologie. Dazu wird das beratende Handeln als soziale Beziehung gefasst, die sich als ein professionalisierungsbedürftiges Arbeitsbündnis darstellt. Die Studie macht zum einen die strukturellen Probleme dieser Praxis deutlich und zeigt zum anderen, wie mit diesen Schwierigkeiten umgegangen werden kann, so dass die wissenschaftliche Beratung erfolgreich verläuft.
