This study will discuss the history of the creation, construction and use of three distinctive shipping company villas in the harbour of Cuxhaven/Germany, located south of the harbours lighthouse, near the Alte Liebe". Lastly the study deleves into the motives and strategies of the involved protagonists and illuminate the results of their activities.

Significantly expanded, expertly and beautifully illustrated, The AJCC Cancer Staging Atlas, 2nd Edition, offers more than 600 illustrations created exclusively for this new edition and is fully updated to reflect the concepts discussed in the 7th Edition of both the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual and its companion Handbook. This Atlas illustrates the TNM classifications of all cancer sites and types included in the 7th Edition of the Manual and visually conceptualizes the TNM classifications and stage groupings. Specifically designed for simplicity and precision, the drawings have been verified through multi-disciplinary review to ensure accuracy and relevancy for clinical use. Every illustration provides detailed anatomic depictions to clarify critical structures and to allow the reader to instantly visualize the progressive extent of malignant disease. In addition, nodal maps are included for each site, appropriate labeling has been incorporated to identify significant anatomic structures, and each illustration is accompanied by an explanatory legend. The AJCC Cancer Staging Atlas, 2nd Edition, is an official publication of the American Joint Committee on Cancer, the recognized international leader in state-of-the-art information on cancer staging. This Atlas has been created as a companion to the updated 7th Edition of the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, which continues to disseminate the importance of anatomical and pathological staging in the management of cancer. This state-of-the-art, invaluable 2nd Edition includes a CD containing PowerPoint slides of all illustrations, additional color, and a user-friendly, easy-to-read layout. In the prologues and epilogues to his Fables, Phaedrus – despite the low reputation of the genre – develops a complex if at times inconsistent poetics. The ambivalences and contradictory nature of his poetics are part of the fabulist’s self-presentation, whereby certain figures, such as Aesop the trickster, the donkey, and even divine figures such as Prometheus play central role.

This reference book compiles together different animal models in cancer research. It provides knowledge and a better understanding of the advancement of the molecular and cellular mechanisms associated with the progression, formation, and clinical results of various types of cancer from the evidence collected from animal models utilized for cancer research. It discusses animal models for screening anti-cancer drugs and exploration of gene therapy. It presents different methods used to construct cancer animal models and the progress of each animal model in tumor research. The book also highlights the applications of genetic engineering, including CRISP/Cas9, in designing and developing animal models for cancer research. Further, it discusses strategies for modeling animals for investigating growth, metastasis, tumor-associated inflammation and microenvironment, cancer stem cells, tumor heterogeneity, and therapeutic resistance. This book is s a valuable resource for basic and translational cancer researchers, clinicians, and health care.

In recent years, new forms of public self-documentation have become popular on social media platforms and especially through so-called influencers, forming their own media cultural microcosm. Even though YouTube has become emblematic of this cultural technique, media self-documentations are also formative for other services such as Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat. Robert Dörre understands the emergence of these self-designs as an aesthetic practice and traces the media-historical shifts that public self-documentation has experienced on the Internet. In order to make these specific aesthetics, rituals, motifs, and economies accessible to media cultural studies, the work approaches the phenomenon from five perspectives: The reception as authentic self, the self as part of social media, the self as brand, the serial self, and the self as amateur and artist.
