This text is made up of two great nuclei of ideas. The first concerns training and historical development that allow a definition of the unique profile that the School of Art and Visual Communication offers the country through artistic education. Here we analyze the contributions of two administrative periods that are fundamental, because it is during their duration that the identity that characterizes the School as an educational and artistic institution is forged. The second part refers to the plastic-artistic, intellectual and teaching production of outstanding professors. This section characterizes the facets that distinguish the work of each author considered and gives a global idea of the values of their artistic production, their projection to the country and the artistic environment from the spheres of creation, art criticism, insertion in museums and teaching itself.

Spanish contemporary poetry: An anthology presents a selection of Spanish peninsular poetry from the 1970s to the present day, with an introductory study of the most relevant poetic trends and poetic groups of the period, followed by guided and close readings of each poem. The anthology includes poems by twenty-two authors selected according to their literary rigour and with attention to the relevance of their work, a comprehensive introductory study, notes, thorough individual commentaries to the poems, and lists of selected vocabulary and rhetorical terms that provide accessibility to the anthology. The poetic selection is divided into sections and subsections in order to aid its pedagogical intent, covering: the poetry written during the transition to democracy; the emergence of poetry written by women in the 1980s; the Spanish poetic field of the 1990s; the poetry written at the turn of the new millennium; and some of the youngest voices in Spanish poetry today. English-speaking students working in the field of Hispanic literature, but also a more general reader keen on literature written in Spanish language, should thoroughly enjoy this work.

Sculpture in Print, 1480–1600 is the first in-depth study dedicated to the intriguing history of the translation of statues and reliefs into print. The multitude of engravings, woodcuts and etchings show a highly creative handling of the ‘original’ antique or contemporary work of art. The essays in this volume reflect these various approaches to and challenges of translating sculpture in print. They analyze foremost the beginnings of the phenomenon in Italian and Northern Renaissance prints and they highlight by means of case studies amongst many other topics the interrelated terminology between sculpture and print, lost models in print, the inventive handling of fragments, as well as the transformation of statues into narrative contexts
