"Creative Hustling is the first book length study about Nairobi-based female filmmakers and their labor as artists and entrepreneurs. Based on original empirical research, Steedman explores how these women pair their cinematic ability with an equally apt business acumen, contributing to a narrative of what it takes to succeed as a filmmaker in Nairobi.
