This study will discuss the history of the creation, construction and use of three distinctive shipping company villas in the harbour of Cuxhaven/Germany, located south of the harbours lighthouse, near the Alte Liebe". The study´s analysis does not however limit itself only to aspects of a historiography of bildings, but rather combines these with a historical approach that contextualize the review undertaken . Lastly the study deleves into the motives and strategies of the involved protagonists and illuminate the results of their activities.

In the prologues and epilogues to his Fables, Phaedrus – despite the low reputation of the genre – develops a complex if at times inconsistent poetics. The ambivalences and contradictory nature of his poetics are part of the fabulist’s self-presentation, whereby certain figures, such as Aesop the trickster, the donkey, and even divine figures such as Prometheus play central role.

In recent years, new forms of public self-documentation have become popular on social media platforms and especially through so-called influencers, forming their own media cultural microcosm. Even though YouTube has become emblematic of this cultural technique, media self-documentations are also formative for other services such as Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat. Robert Dörre understands the emergence of these self-designs as an aesthetic practice and traces the media-historical shifts that public self-documentation has experienced on the Internet. In order to make these specific aesthetics, rituals, motifs, and economies accessible to media cultural studies, the work approaches the phenomenon from five perspectives: The reception as authentic self, the self as part of social media, the self as brand, the serial self, and the self as amateur and artist.

For over thirty-five years, Robert L. B. Tobin of San Antonio, Texas, has collected the scene and costume design renderings of various theatre artists. One of Mr. Tobin's goals in building his collection is that it be used by as many people as possible, from beginning theatre students to theatre history researchers. As the art of scene design and the interest in the history of scene design has developed, a problem has developed in that theatre history researchers have difficulty in locating the works of designers in various public and private collections of theatre materials. A descriptive catalog of a collection would make the job of the researcher easier, giving him a means to quickly find the pieces he needs. It is the purpose of the dissertation to catalog a segment of the Tobin Collection of Scene Designs, to aid researchers wishing to utilize its holdings, as well as to publicize the collection to a great degree. The segment of the collection to be cataloged in the dissertation is the original scene designs dating from 1900-1940. The catalog will feature a descriptive listing of each piece, along with a biography of each of the designers and a photographic reproduction of each piece.

Audio films enable blind and visually impaired people to enjoy a feature film. An audio film consists of the original audio track of the film and the audio description. This film description compensates for the video track of the film. It is therefore a purely auditory media text. Translation studies consider the work of audio descriptors as an intercodal translation process and as a part of audiovisual translation. Maher Tyfour examined the concrete implementation of audiodescription on a corpus of image translations for the Munich Tatort series. His focus was on the city's staging. By comparing them with the original video tracks of the feature films, he illustrates the intertextual relationship between original and translation. In the analysis he identifies the strategies of the audio descriptors that are partly unconsciously implemented in the translation process, explains them and discusses them in terms of text and translation studies. Maher Tyfour studied English at the University of Damascus (Syria) before coming to Germany in 2009. After completing his master's degree in Intercultural German Studies at the Georg-August University of Göttingen, he earned his doctorate at the University of Hildesheim. He works as a teacher of English and German as a second language in Saxony.
