In dieser kurzgefaßten Geschichte der russischen Literatur von 1945-1976 wird diese als sprachlich konstituierte Kunst aufgefasst, also weder auf russische "Sowjetliteratur" (die zum jeweiligen Zeitpunkt in der UdSSR anerkannte Literatur) beschränkt, noch grundsätzlich in eine in der Sowjetunion und eine außerhalb dieser veröffentlichte Literatur gespalten.

This study analyses the representation of Durbanite and Capetonian urban spaces in the following selection of post-apartheid works: Mariam Akabor's ''Flat 9'', Rozena Maart's ''Rosa's District Six'', Johan van Wyk's ''Man Bitch'', K. Sello Duiker's ''Thirteen Cents'', Bridget McNulty's ''Strange Nervous Laughter'', and Lauren Beukes' ''Moxyland''. The focus lies on the interrelatedness of shifting post-apartheid subjectivities and urban space (and place) in these literary works. The analysis not only grants access to different ‘new voices` of post-apartheid literature, it also sheds light on the perception of South African history, urban geography, and cultural topography – essentially, on real as well as imagined South African urban spaces – as the literary representations of city-spaces become archives of cultural transformation processes; a gateway to the understanding of the developments and changes of, and within, the two cities in question.

Daily devotionals exploring spiritual themes in Harry Potter, youth pastors giving sermons wearing Jedi robes, missionary groups using Bilbo's journey to share the Gospel of Christ: There is apparently a high level of interest within the Christian community to engage with popular culture. This applies in particular to fictional works dealing with the supernatural or fantastic otherworlds. The aim of this study is to show how fantasy literature can be used in modern society to articulate religious themes. The focus lies on Christian literature such as devotional books and didactic resources for ministry addressing Christian readers in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. By analysing Christian literature reflecting Harry Potter, His Dark Materials and Left Behind (works of fantasy that strongly differ in their engagement with religious themes) this thesis shows how Christian teachers, apologists, writers and speakers create biblical analogies and use (religious) archetypes to build a bridge between the narratives of popular culture, Christian tradition and the reader’s personal story. Andachtsbücher zu Harry Potter zum täglichen Gebrauch, Gottesdienste in Hogwarts-Roben oder Jedi-Gewändern: Es fällt auf, dass ein großes Interesse am Einsatz von populären Medienerzeugnissen in christlich-religiösen Kontexten besteht. Hierbei stechen vor allem erbauliche Veröffentlichungen zu Werken hervor, die wunderbare Realitätssysteme enthalten. Die vorliegende Dissertation untersucht, welche mit Religion zusammenhängenden Leistungen die populäre Fantasy-Literatur für christliche Rezipienten erfüllen kann. Im Fokus stehen dabei Publikationen für christliche Lesergruppen aus Deutschland, Großbritannien und den USA. Ausgehend von modernisierungstheoretischen, lesepsychologischen und religionssoziologischen Modellen wird am Beispiel christlicher Begleitliteratur zu Harry Potter, Left Behind und His Dark Materials herausgearbeitet, wie Fantasy-Serien, die ganz unterschiedlich in ihrer Thematisierung von Religion sind, zur Artikulation von Religion in modernen Gesellschaften aufbereitet werden.

The series Specimina philologiae Slavicae, founded in 1972 by the Frankfurt Slavists Olexa Horbatsch and Gerd Freidhof, is today performed by Holger Kuße (Dresden), Peter Kosta (Potsdam), Beatrix Kreß (Hildesheim), Franz Schindler (casting), Barbara Sonnenhauser (Zurich) and Nadine Thielemann (Vienna) issue. The series includes monographs, anthologies and textbooks covering all areas of Slavic, Linguistics, Literary and Cultural Studies. In linguistics, both linguistic and innovative works on pragmatics and semantics, slavic minor languages ​​and discourse linguistics are published. In literary and cultural studies, one of the areas of special interest is Russian philosophy. Die 1972 von den Frankfurter Slavisten Olexa Horbatsch und Gerd Freidhof begründete Reihe Specimina philologiae Slavicae wird heute von Holger Kuße (Dresden), Peter Kosta (Potsdam), Beatrix Kreß (Hildesheim), Franz Schindler (Gießen), Barbara Sonnenhauser (Zürich) und Nadine Thielemann (Wien) herausgeben. In der Reihe erscheinen Monographien, Sammelbände und Lehrbücher zu allen Gebieten der Slavistik, der Sprach-, der Literatur- und der Kulturwissenschaft. In der Sprachwissenschaft erscheinen sowohl sprachhistorische als auch innovative Arbeiten zur Pragmatik und Semantik, zu slavischen Kleinsprachen und zur Diskurslinguistik. In der Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft gehört zu den besonderen Interessensgebieten die Russische Philosophie.
