Martensite forms under rapid cooling of austenitic grains accompanied by a change of the crystal lattice. Large deformations are induced which lead to plastic dislocations. In this work a transformation model based on the sharp interface theory, set in a finite strain context is developed. Crystal plasticity effects, the kinetic of the singular surface as well as a simple model of the inheritance from austenite dislocations into martensite are accounted for.

This work examines the causes and consequences of volatility in the regular processes of a logistic network. On the basis of the findings, a concept for cooperative planning and control using software agents is proposed and evaluated in a simulation environment in comparison to a sequence control based on the FIFO principle. The focus is on examining the effectiveness of a dynamic urgency assessment for prioritizing orders.

In this work, contributes to the optimization of local continuous fiber reinforcement patches, under consideration of manufacturing constraints. This approach requires specific optimization strategies. Therefore, an multi-objective optimization strategy for the placement of local reinforcement patches, under consideration of manufacturing constraints, has been developed. During the multi objective optimization, structural and process related objectives are considered.

Solid state batteries with a lithium metal electrode are considered the next generation of high energy battery technology. Unfortunately, lithium metal is prone to harmful protrusion or dendrite growth which causes dangerous cell failure. Within this work the problem of protrusion growth is tackled by deriving a novel electro-chemo-mechanical theory tailored for binary solid state batteries which is then used to discuss the impact of mechanics on interface stability by numerical studies.

Solid oxide fuel cells are used to generate electricity from various fuel gases. The sealants between the stack-components should be gas-tight, mechanically stable and insulating. This work shows that glass ceramics can be used as sealant material for fuel cells. Solvent- and water-based suspensions are made from alkaline earth silicate glass and thick layers are produced using the screen-printing process. To demonstrate the applicability, they are soldered between steel and ceramic substrates.
