Der Begriff oikonomia, der griechischen Umgangssprache entnommen, wird in seinen verschiedenen Bedeutungen innerhalb der biblischen und theologischen Literatur umfassend untersucht. Erst durch den Kontext wird er zum theologischen Begriff. Oikonomia bezeichnet im Neuen Testament Gottes Walten, ohne ursprünglich mit einer Heilsvorstellung verbunden zu sein. Auch das innertrinitarische Verhältnis und das Ineinander der zwei Naturen in Christus können mit oikonomia bezeichnet werden. In der Ostkirche gehört oikonomia zu den Kennzeichen kirchlichen Handelns und findet Eingang in die byzantinische Rechtsauffassung. Ebenso hat sie Bedeutung für ökumenische Bemühungen. In theological literature, the colloquial Greek term oikonomia has several meanings, and only becomes a theological concept through its context. In the New Testament, it signifies God’s rule, but it is not originally connected with the notion of salvation. The internal relationship of the Trinity can be signified with oikonomia, as can the union of two natures in Christ. In the Eastern Church, oikonomia is part of the features of ecclesiastical praxis and finds its way into the Byzantine notion of law. It is also of significance for ecumenical efforts.

André Baillon parle comme il écrit, simplement, sans affectation, sans mots inutiles ; il répond en quelques mots aux questions qu'on lui pose, même lorsqu'elles sont indiscrètes ; il s'exprime brièvement, mais sans hâte, et attend de nouvelles questions. » Ce qu'il explique ? Comment il voulait raconter ce qu'il avait vu et vécu à la Salpêtrière. « J'avais fait un premier séjour de deux mois environ il y a deux ans ; l'année dernière, j'y suis retourné une quinzaine de jours. » Comment aussi il a été entraîné, « presque contraint », à écrire d'abord sa propre histoire. Il ne se masque pas derrière la fiction : « Les femmes dont je parle existent, et aussi la petite Micheline, et le docteur avait raison : elle était l'épine qui empêchait ma guérison. Quand je terminai ce livre, j'en fus débarrassé ; dès qu'on connaît les causes de son mal, on est presque guéri. »

Dieser Band enthält eine vergleichende, sozio-linguistische Untersuchung zur deuteronomischen Wendung leshakken shemo sham und ihrer gleichbedeutenden Parallelen in der deuteronomistischen Geschichtsschreibung wie lashum shemo sham und lihyot shemo sham . Diese charakteristischen Formulierungen sind bisher als Hinweis auf die Theologie des Namens Gottes gedeutet worden - eine Weiterentwicklung der israelitischen Religion hin zu einer abstrakteren Deutung der göttlichen Präsenz im Tempel. Mit der Auswertung von epigraphischem Material aus Mesopotamien und dem gesamten levantinischen Umfeld zeigt die Studie, dass leshakken shemo sham und lashum shemo sham Lehnwörter des Akkadischen shuma shakanu sind, das in der Königstradition Mesopotamiens verwurzelt ist. Die daraus folgende Neuübersetzung und Neuinterpretation der biblischen Wendung hat erheblichen Einfluss auf die klassische Formulierung der Namenstheologie. This monograph is a comparative, socio-linguistic reassessment of the Deuteronomic idiom, leshakken shemo sham, and its synonymous biblical reflexes in the Deuteronomistic History, lashum shemo sham, and lihyot shemo sham. These particular formulae have long been understood as evidence of the Name Theology - the evolution in Israelite religion toward a more abstracted mode of divine presence in the temple. Utilizing epigraphic material gathered from Mesopotamian and Levantine contexts, this study demonstrates that leshakken shemo sham and lashum shemo sham are loan-adaptations of Akkadian shuma shakanu, an idiom common to the royal monumental tradition of Mesopotamia. The resulting retranslation and reinterpretation of the biblical idiom profoundly impacts the classic formulation of the Name Theology.
