Eddy Fraiture (1942) est un touche-à-tout avec une grande passion pour l'horlogerie. La découverte du monde horloger il y a une vingtaine d'années ne s'arrêta pas à la technique ou à l'art de construire une horloge. Il s'intéressait aussi au contexte économique et historique. On retrouve déjà cette démarche dans ses livres: Uurwerknijverheid en uurwerkmakers in Vlaanderen 2002 ('Industrie horlogère et horlogers en Flandre' Trad.) et Staande klokken en uurwerkmakers in Vlaanderen 2005 ('Horloges de parquet et horlogers en Flandre' Trad.). Dans son troisième livre <="" i=""> Eddy Fraiture se promène dans le vaste domaine de l'horlogerie belge, un domaine peu connu et souvent méconnu. Il mentionne plus de 4600 horlogers ayant été actifs en Belgique dont quelques grands noms comme Nicolas Vallin, Zacharie Raingo ou Hubert Sarton. Ce livre est un must pour le collectionneur averti, l'antiquaire ou l'amateur d'horlogerie.
