The study examines the earliest - and with over 100,000 verses, the most extensive - vernacular Legenda concerning its portrayals of holiness. Rather than emphasizing formal and historical motifs, it focuses on the specific poetics of legendary narrative. The analytic findings are also applicable to hagiographic narratives in general. Die Studie untersucht das früheste und mit über 100.000 Versen umfangreichste volkssprachige Legendar hinsichtlich seiner narrativen Inszenierungsformen von Heiligkeit. Es geht also nicht um form- und motivgeschichtliche Fragen, sondern um die spezifische Poetik legendarischen Erzählens. Die Ergebnisse der Analysen lassen sich daher auch übertragen auf die Bedingungen hagiographischer Erzählungen im Allgemeinen.
