Abstract

L'arrivée des industries numériques dans les écoles et les universités n'est pas qu'un changement de support (papier Vs. numérique). Il s'agit d'un changement profond dans notre rapport aux technologies et à l'éducation. Educateurs, enseignants, chercheurs et parents doivent donc pouvoir en saisir les enjeux, afin de construire leur propre positionnement et leurs propres stratégies éducatives. Mais comment alors éduquer à l'ère du numérique ? Quelle place faire au numérique dans les parcours scolaires et universitaires ? En France ou ailleurs, les acteurs du monde éducatif se sont massivement saisis de ces questions. Pour autant, la réponse éducative à la « révolution numérique » est encore aujourd'hui loin d'être univoque. Elle a même suscité durant les dernières années des débats passionnés. Cet essai ne vise pas à recenser les innombrables pratiques, outils technologiques et théories qui coexistent aujourd'hui dans les mondes éducatifs mais propose au contraire de dégager les grands mouvements de l'éducation au numérique. On verra que s'affrontent deux paradigmes : d'une part le paradigme français avec prééminence de la théorie sur la pratique, construction d'une distance critique avec les technologies. En face, le paradigme anglo-saxon des EdTech prend une place de plus en plus grande jusqu'à devenir le paradigme dominant. Celui-ci met en avant, entre autre, une pratique du code informatique et un rapport décomplexé à des technologies considérées en elles-mêmes comme éducatives.
