Northern forested landscapes are important habitats for many boreal birds. This Special Issue portrays the current state of knowledge on boreal bird diversity, ecology, management, and conservation. Humans have diverse impacts on boreal habitats worldwide, and knowledge of the avian community associated with these northern forests is key to conservation measures.

This book focuses on the quantitative assessment of environmental and human health risks which are usually evaluated by the ecological risk assessment which is the process for evaluating how likely it is that the environment might be obstructed as a result of exposure to environmental stressors. This book can deliver novel data on the quantitative assessment framework and provide a theoretical basis for follow-up research on the mitigation measures and control strategies for stakeholders.

This reprint is dedicated to new insights into food fermentation. The goal of this reprint was to broaden the current knowledge on advanced approaches concerning food fermentation, gathering studies on conventional and unconventional food matrix fermentation, functional compounds obtained through fermentation, fermentations increasing quality and safety standards, as well as papers presenting innovative approaches shedding light on the microbial community that characterizes fermented foods.

The management of wildlife populations and their habitats are interdisciplinary fields that encompass many scientific disciplines that also impact the lives of people. Therefore, these are truly applied sciences where human dimensions play an important role. This book highlights the importance of conducting rigorous studies to design and implement the effective management and restoration of wild populations and their habitats. A new paradigm in conservation is developing that goes beyond the boundaries of protected areas to achieve the goal of sustainable development. The 16 papers in this book, including reviews and a project report, cover a broad range of topics, exploring a diversity of subjects that are representative of current practices and novel applications. We would like to thank both the MDPI publishers and editorial staff for their support and help during the process of editing this book, in addition to the authors for their contributions.
