The purpose of ICSOFT since 2013 designated as the International Joint conference on Software Technologies is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners working in areas that are either related to new software paradigm trends or to mainstream software engineering and applications ICSOFT is composed of two co located conferences, each specialized in the aforementioned areas Together, ICSOFT PT and ICSOFT EA aim at becoming a major meeting point for software engineers worldwide.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th International Joint Conference on E-Business and Telecommunications, ICETE 2015, held in Colmar, France, in July 2015. ICETE is a joint international conference integrating four major areas of knowledge that are divided into six corresponding conferences: International Conference on Data Communication Networking, DCNET; International Conference on E-Business, ICE-B; International Conference on Optical Communication Systems, OPTICS; International Conference on Security and Cryptography, SECRYPT; International Conference on Wireless Information Systems, WINSYS; and International Conference on Signal Processing and Multimedia, SIGMAP. The 23 full papers presented together with an invited paper in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 218 submissions. The papers cover the following key areas of e-business and telecommunications: data communication networking; e-business; optical communication systems; security and cryptography; signal processing and multimedia applications; wireless information networks and systems.

The International Conference on Networking (ICN01) is the first conference in its series aimed at stimulating technical exchange in the emerging and important field of networking. On behalf of the International Advisory Committee, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the International Conference on Networking. Integration of fixed and portable wirele ss access into IP and ATM networks presents a cost effective and efficient way to provide seamless end to end connectivity and ubiquitous access in a market where demands on Mobile and Cellular Networks have grown rapidly and predicted to generate billions of dollars in revenue. The deployment of broadband IP based technologies over Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and integration of IP with broadband wireless access networks (BWANs) are becoming increasingly important. In addition, fixed core IP/ATM networks are constructed with recent move to IP/MPLS over DWDM. More over, mobility introduces further challenges in the area that have neither been fully understood nor resolved in the preceding network generation. This first Conference ICN01 has been very well perceived by the International networking community. A total of 300 papers from 39 countries were submitted, from which 168 have been accepted. Each paper has been reviewed by several members of the scientific Program Committee.

The 1st Workshop on Service Assurance with Partial and Intermittent Resources (SAPIR 2004) was the first event in a series introducing the concept of pi-resources and bridging it with the emerging and important field of distributed and heavily shared resources. The topics concerning this event are driven by a paradigm shift occurring in the last decade in telecommunications and networking considering partial and intermittent resources (pi-resources). The Internet, converged networks, delay-tolerant networks, ad hoc networking, GRID-supporting networks, and satellite communications require a management paradigm shift that takes into account the partial and intermittent availability of resources, including infrastructure (networks, computing, and storage) and service components, in distributed and shared environments. A resource is called partial (p-resource) when only a subset of conditions for it to function to complete specification is met, yet it is still able to provide a (potentially degraded) service, while an intermittent or sporadic resource (i-resource) will be able to provide a service for limited and potentially unpredictable time intervals only. Partial and intermittent services are relevant in environments characterized by high volatility and fluctuation of available resources, such as those experienced in conjunction with component mobility or ad hoc networking, where the notion of traditional service guarantees is no longer applicable. Other characteristics, such as large transmission delays and storage mechanisms during the routing, require a rethinking of today's paradigms with regards to service assurance and how service guarantees are defined.
