The field of academic psychiatry is in crisis, everywhere. It is not merely a health crisis of resource scarcity or distribution, competing claims and practice models, or level of development from one country to another, but a deeper, more fundamental crisis about the very definition and the theoretical basis of psychiatry. The kinds of questions that represent this crisis include whether psychiatry is a social science (like psychology or anthropology), whether it is better understood as part of the humanities (like philosophy, history, and literature), or if the future of psychiatry is best assured as a branch of medicine (based on genetics and neuroscience)? Quando all’interno di una coppia difficoltà e incomprensioni diventano la regola, il rapporto si intrappola in una spirale di frustrazioni e rivalse. Spesso questa problematica è una conseguenza della sudditanza psicologica che lo caratterizza, e che rappresenta una fenomenologia della coppia moderna molto diffusa e sottovalutata. I sensi di colpa, i ricatti psicologici , lo sminuire il senso di capacità del proprio partner sono alcuni segnali di quello che, secondo l’autrice, può definirsi un “aggancio nevrotico”: una vera trappola psicologica nella quale cadiamo tutte le volte che abbandoniamo il nostro modo di leggere la realtà e ci agganciamo a quello fornitoci dal partner, perdendo così il “baricentro” del nostro proprio essere.
