"Osborn's Brain: Imaging, Pathology, and Anatomy is the much-pleaded-for successor to Anne G. Osborn's 1993 award winning book Diagnostic Neuroradiology (a.k.a. "The Red Book"), which became one of the all-time bestselling neuroradiology texts. In this highly anticipated 1,200-page volume, Anne Osborn applies her special touch to make complex topics visually appealing and easy to understand. It wraps the "must know" aspects of brain imaging together with spectacular pathology examples, relevant anatomy, and the most up-to-date modalities and techniques in brain imaging"--Provided by publisher.

The proposed book will be a multi-author review book comprised of relevant chapters written in the form of critical reviews by the leading researchers in their respective fields. The format of the articles will be in semi-academic style in which research data from various experimental systems will be presented while focusing on their applications in human beings with respect to the prevention and treatment of age-related impairments in brain functions. The book will consist of about 18 chapters, each of which will be on an average 16 pages long giving about 300 pages. Each chapter will be a comprehensive and critical review of the topic in question presenting important data in a tabulated form, and wherever necessary using photographs and line drawings. It will provide an authoritative and up-to-date account of a specific topic with a comprehensive list of citations of original research papers and review articles.

Brain Imaging in Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Neuroscience Ronald Cohen, editor The question “How does the mind work?” is an enduring one, with new answers appearing on a regular basis. Particularly significant developments in cognition and behavior research are coming from neuroimaging, a vital source of new studies on the role of the brain in health behavior. Brain Imaging in Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Neuroscience presents in depth the latest clinical and research applications of neuroimaging, surveying frequently used methods (among them fMRI, MRS, perfusion and diffusion imaging) and their uses in understanding brain behavior and pathology. Featuring chapters on specific disorders such as AIDS-related complications, Alzheimer’s disease, and stroke, and behavior medicine issues such as pain, substance abuse, and fatigue, this timely volume gives clinicians a wide-angle look at innovations with the potential to transform psychological and psychiatric practice. Brain Imaging in Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Neuroscience: • Describes a variety of structural and functional neuroimaging methods. • Discusses clinical strengths and limitations of these methods. • Offers current neuroimaging-derived findings on key topics in clinical neuroscience and behavioral medicine. • Reviews evidene regarding the use of neuroimaging in assessing specific brain and behavioral dysfunctions. • Considers how imaging methods can be combined to understand the relationships between brain structure, pathophysiology, and function. • Suggests areas for future research. The scope and detail of Brain Imaging in Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Neuroscience make it an essential reference not only for those specializing in these fields, but for clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, and health providers as well.

The Neuropsychology of Women Edited by Elaine Fletcher-Janzen, Private Practice, Cleveland The male brain has traditionally set the standard in the neuroscientific literature, whether the topic was normal development or pathological conditions; yet complex factors contribute to women having assessment and treatment needs apart from those of men. The current volume in the Diversity in Clinical Neuropsychology series, The Neuropsychology of Women is the first resource to focus exclusively on these factors. The contributing panel of neuropsychologists and researchers offers the reader a thorough grounding in female brain functioning in developmental, cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and pathology contexts while also raising and addressing significant questions about socioeconomic variables that frequently result in compromised care. A deeper awareness of these data enhances readers’ clinical knowledge, leading to more accurate assessment and diagnosis, suitably tailored interventions, and better treatment outcomes in these chapter areas: Traumatic brain injury. Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Learning disabilities. Eating disorders. Seizure disorders. Psychopathological conditions. The Neuropsychology of Women is a major step forward in the cultural competence literature, deserving of a wide audience among neuropsychologists (hospital-based, academic, private practice), clinical psychologists, and rehabilitation professionals.
