Die stetige Verschärfung der Emissionsgrenzwerte von Verbrennungsmotoren seitens des Gesetzgebers erfordert die Weiterentwicklung und Verbesserung von Technologien der katalytischen Abgasnachbehandlung.Das Ziel dieser Arbeit besteht daher in der Weiterentwicklung eines detaillierten, auf Elementarschritten basierenden Reaktionsmechanismus für die Edelmetallkomponente Platin und die Entwicklung eines Modells zur numerischen Simulation eines NOx-Speicher/Reduktionskatalysators (NSC).

Soft Magnetic Composites (SMCs) typically consist of large iron particles coated with a fairly thin inorganic layer. The combination of soft particles with a brittle layer causes, however, a rather poor mechanical behaviour of the SMCs. The particle boundaries of the specific SMC Somaloy 700 3P can be classified into four different types according to the complexity of their layers. Tests on both micro- and macroscale showed that the particle-boundary interface is critical in terms of failure.

In this work experimental tests are performed to investigate the forming behavior of unidirectional non-crimp fabrics (UD-NCFs) within the context of an automated preforming process. Based on the experimental results, a macroscopic forming simulation model for UD-NCFs is developed and model parameters are identified via the simulation of material tests. The forming simulation model is validated via hemisphere and car body part forming tests.

This work is a comprehensive analysis of the decal process for production of catalyst coated membranes. Both the process window for the transfer of electrodes from decal foil onto membrane and the effects of the parameters of ink and transfer process on structure and function including process reproducibility shall be investigated. A major component of all those aspects is the selection, implementation and assessment of appropriate characterization methods.

Mixed ionic-electronic conducting (MIEC) ceramics as oxygen transport membranes (OTMs) can provide high oxygen permeation rates at comparably low energy demands. For this purpose, Ba?.?Sr?.?Co?.?Fe?.?O??? (BSCF) shows the best performance under ideal operating conditions. Thermal and chemical stability investigations, electrical behavior ?(T,pO?,t), and oxygen exchange parameter extraction by means of electrical conductivity relaxation resulted in a far better understanding of the BSCF system.

In this book a test set for dielectric measurements at 2.45 GHz during curing of polymer composites is developed. Fast reconstruction is solved using a neural network algorithm. Modeling of the curing process at 2.45 GHz using both dielectric constant and dielectric loss factor results in more accurate model compared to low frequency modelling that only uses the loss factor. Effect of various hardeners and different amount of filler is investigated.

The solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) as electricity and heat producer of the future represents a key technology in the context of a climate-friendly energy supply. Research focuses on the improvement of the lifetime and cost reduction of the SOFC components. In this work, microstructural changes that occur during cell production and operation (aging process) are identified by multiscale examination methods.

Jurij Karlovič Oleša war einer der bedeutenden Schriftsteller der frühen Sowjetzeit, jener in literarischer Hinsicht lebendigsten Periode, nämlich der 20ger Jahre. Tiefgehenden und vielseitigen Einblick gerade in diese neuere (wie auch die neueste) russische Literatur, ebenso wie belebteres Verständnis für literaturtheoretische Betrachtungsweisen vermittelte mir Professor Dr. Wolfgang Kasack, dem ich auch für die entscheidende Anregung zu der Dissertation und die wertvollen Hinweise während der Arbeit zu grösstem Dank verpflichtet bin. Die Arbeit wurde gefördert durch ein Promotionsstipendium der Universität Köln, in dessen Rahmen zwei Aufenthalte in der Sowjetunion es erlaubten, in Deutschland nicht zugängliche Literatur miteinzubeziehen.
