"Reading crusader fiction against the backdrop of Mediterranean history, this book explains how Iberian authors reimagined the idea of Crusade through the lens of Iberian geopolitics and social history. The Crusades transformed Mediterranean history and inaugurated complex engagements between Western Europe, the Balkans, North Africa, and the Middle East in ways that endure to this day. Narratives of Crusades powerfully shaped European thinking about the East and continue to influence the representation of interaction between Christian and Muslim states in the region. The Crusade, a French idea that gave rise to Iberian, North African, and Levantine campaigns, was very much a Mediterranean phenomenon. French and English authors wrote itineraries in the Holy Land, chronicles of the Crusades, and fanciful accounts of Christian knights who championed the Latin Church in the East. This study aims to explore the ways in which Iberian authors imagined their role in the culture of Crusade, both as participants and interpreters of narrative traditions of the crusading world from north of the Pyrenees."--

Ce volume interroge la notion de « récit minimal », aussi bien dans ses limites qualitatives que quantitatives. Qu'est ce qu’un récit a minima ? Peut-on déterminer un contenu minimal de la narrativité : au moins une action, un événement ? Quel statut donner aux récits à l’événementialité incomplète, aux récits où « il ne se passe rien », aux récits où les actions apparaissent sans intentionalité ? Est-il possible de représenter le non-événement ? Quelles différences entre récit minimal, récit minimaliste et écriture blanche ? L’originalité de ce recueil d’essais réside dans son ouverture à plusieurs supports narratifs : aux études narratologiques et littéraires, sur des auteurs tels que Régnier, Ramuz, Larbaud, Quignard, Michon, Macé ou Chevillard, s’ajoutent des analyses sur la présence du récit minimal dans la poésie et le théâtre, ainsi que dans la bande dessinée, le cinéma, les récits de presse et la publicité.

"On December 6, 1917, the Canadian city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, was shattered when volatile cargo on the SS Mont-Blanc freighter exploded in the bustling wartime harbour. More than nineteen hundred people were killed and nine thousand injured. Across more than two square kilometres some 1200 homes, factories, schools and churches were obliterated or heavily damaged. Wine has been around for thousands of years, grape growing and wine production is worldwide, and recipes are prolific. However, this approach to winemaking root cause analysis is original and cannot be found in any other winemaking publications. The book start with the basics, with the authors' own basic winemaking steps. This provides a winemaking process and common language. With this understanding and departure point, they describe Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methods as applied to winemaking. Though winemaking appears to have simple steps, problems or flaws inevitably arise. Instant access to online materials can provide ad-hoc answers to given conditions; however, the applicability of these solutions to one’s own situation ad particular conditions is not always clear. Selective changes may or may not solve the problem and in the winemaking world, it may take years to finish the wine and understand if the quality actually improved or not. A finished wine will have thousands of particular current and historical conditions that played some role in its quality.The root cause analysis (RCA) approach provides a path to sort these out and guide winemakers to the solution.
