This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the First International Conference on Health Information Science, held in Beijing, China, in April 2012. The 15 full papers presented together with 1 invited paper and 3 industry/panel statements in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 38 submissions. The papers cover all aspects of the health information sciences and the systems that support this health information management and health service delivery. The scope includes 1) medical/health/biomedicine information resources, such as patient medical records, devices and equipments, software and tools to capture, store, retrieve, process, analyze, optimize the use of information in the health domain, 2) data management, data mining, and knowledge discovery (in health domain), all of which play a key role in decision making, management of public health, examination of standards, privacy and security issues, and 3) development of new architectures and applications for health information systems.

Depuis son apparition dans l’Asie Mineure archaïque jusqu’à son triomphe dans l’Italie de la Renaissance, la Sibylle s’est prêtée à des métamorphoses successives, de la prophétesse païenne issue du polythéisme antique, figure à la fois une et multiple du savoir, à la prophétesse “dé-paganisée” de l’ère chrétienne, revivifiée par les monothéismes juif et chrétien. Ce sont ces métamorphoses que ce livre se propose d’explorer, dans la religion et dans l’imaginaire occidentaux. Porte-parole inspirée par un dieu et inscrite dans les débats politico-religieux, femme parmi les prophètes dans sa réélaboration religieuse par les communautés judéo-chrétiennes, guide d’un parcours poétique fondé sur la réécriture, fée médiévale à la libido exacerbée ou personnage évanescent du théâtre symboliste, sont quelques unes de ses facettes envisagées ici, dans leur continuité et leur permanence. La Sibylle est à la charnière de deux mondes, faisant le lien de l’un à l’autre, monde païen et monde chrétien, monde humain et monde divin, monde des vivants et monde des morts, monde de l’écrit et monde de la voix. Par l’obscurité, le mystère de sa personne et de sa parole, elle a éveillé les imaginations et les siècles ont vu en elle un moyen d’appréhender l’indicible ou l’incompréhensible, dans un va-et-vient constant entre la parole éphémère, insaisissable et obscure, et sa fixation par l’écrit ou l’image. Ce volume est l’aboutissement d’un colloque organisé par le CELAM à l’Université de Rennes 2 autour de la figure de la Sibylle et de sa parole prophétique à travers les arts et les âges. Il réunit des articles de chercheurs de plusieurs pays européens, spécialistes de littérature, histoire, histoire des religions et musique.
