Abstract

'Beyond Programming' provides a unique examination of the software development process. It brings together a set of core concepts for understanding the research and development challenges that will confront computer technology in the next century. The book is divided into three parts: science and technology, ecological design, and software design. By way of example, the author describes and evaluates fourteen years of experience with an alternative vision of 21st-century software design.
