Eine Auswahlbibliographie rundet die Jubiläumsschrift ab. The Bavarian State Library is one of Europe's largest and most important universal libraries, with unique stocks and collections. In this publication celebrating the library's 450th anniversary, the authors present a view behind the scenes of this "Treasury of Knovwledge". Besides historical topics and descriptions of the most important collections, the articles describe current issues and future challenges - for example the whole issue of mass digitalisation, the roles of net-based user services or library marketing. There is also a detailed account of the Library's role as the central archive and state library of the Free State of Bavaria. As one of the most important collections of source materials in the world, the Bavarian State Library is guardian of a centuries-old cultural heritage and at the same time positions itself as a modern, innovative service centre for the knowledge society. A selected bibliography completes this anniversary volume.

Gregors des Großen Regula pastoralis gehört zu den am stärksten althochdeutsch glossierten Texten. Eine umfassende Darstellung dieser Glossen fehlt und ist nicht zu leisten, solange einige der wichtigsten Quellen noch immer nicht ausreichend aufgearbeitet sind. Zu diesen gehören die Glossen der Handschriften Clm 6277 und Clm 18550a, die in dieser Untersuchung erstmals vollständig ediert und sprachlich sowie paläographisch kommentiert werden. Gregory the Great's Regula pastoralis is one of the most heavily glossed Old High German texts. A comprehensive presentation of these glosses has been missing so far and will not possible as long as some of the most important sources still have not been reviewed. These include the glosses of manuscripts Clm 6277 and Clm 18550a. This volume is the first to present an edition of these glosses with both linguistic and paleographic commentary.

Das deutsche Prosaexempel war im Spätmittelalter relativ weit verbreitet und vielseitig einsetzbar. Diese Monografie stellt diesen Texttyp zum ersten Mal ins Zentrum einer umfassenden Untersuchung, wobei ausgehend von einer einzelnen Handschrift mit einem sehr umfangreichen Exempelkorpus - Berlin, SBB-PK, Ms. germ. fol. 863 - unterschiedliche Zugänge vorgestellt und fruchtbar gemacht werden. Das deutsche Prosaexempel wird als literarischer Text präsentiert, dessen Variabilität keineswegs allein durch Mündlichkeit erklärt werden kann, sondern in den Kontext einer spätmittelalterlichen Schreib- und Lesekultur gehört. Die Herkunft der Handschrift aus dem Straßburger Reuerinnenkloster St. Maria Magdalena ermöglicht nicht nur die Berücksichtigung eines konkreten Produktions- und Rezeptionskontextes für das untersuchte Korpus, sondern erlaubt auch vertiefte Einblicke in die literarische und religiöse Kultur in Straßburg in den 1430er Jahren. Ein Repertorium mit Zusatzinformationen zu den über 600 Texten in Ms. germ. fol. 863 stellt einen umfangreichen Materialfundus bereit.
