Le Parlement européen serait une institution sans intérêt, dominée et délaissée par des députés peu impliqués et peu présents. Pourtant, lors des sessions parlementaires, un tout autre sentiment domine : le bâtiment ressemble à une ruche. Dans cet ouvrage, il s’agit de restituer un ensemble de logiques de production du travail parlementaire européen à partir d’enquêtes sur ceux qui le produisent : les élus mais aussi un ensemble d’agents du Parlement européen (administrateurs, assistants parlementaires…) ou extérieurs à l’institution (agents des groupes d’intérêt…). Contribution originale aux études parlementaires, l’ouvrage pose les jalons d’une sociologie du Parlement européen au travail à partir de deux grilles d’analyse : d’une part l’analyse d’un espace de pratiques des parlementaires ; d’autre part une analyse de la co-production du travail parlementaire par un ensemble de « permanents » du champ de l’Eurocratie en concurrence pour faire advenir la législation européenne.
