This book introduces 5 key feeding techniques such as coaxial probe, microstrip, conformal strip, aperture, and coplanar waveguide and covers different shapes of dielectric resonator antennas leading to improvement in circularly polarized (CP) performance. It introduces advancements in the field of dielectric resonator antennas and dilectric resonator antennas (DRAs). Five different types of feeding techniques (i.e. coaxial probe, microstrip, conformal strip, aperture, and coplanar waveguide) are described for obtaining CP followed by two modified shaped DRA (sector DRAs). Throughout this book, rectangular and circular with their modified shapes of the dielectric resonator are utilized, providing differing degrees of freedom as well as different variable parameters, including length, width, height, radius, aspect ratio and dielectric constant, which are tuned to obtain the desired antenna parameters.

Charge-Coupled Devices (CCDs) are the state-of-the-art detector in many fields of observational science. Updated to include all of the latest developments in CCDs, this second edition of the Handbook of CCD Astronomy is a concise and accessible reference on all practical aspects of using CCDs. Starting with their electronic workings, it discusses their basic characteristics and then gives methods and examples of how to determine these values. While the book focuses on the use of CCDs in professional observational astronomy, advanced amateur astronomers, and researchers in physics, chemistry, medical imaging, and remote sensing will also find it very valuable. Tables of useful and hard-to-find data, key practical equations, and new exercises round off the book and ensure that it provides an ideal introduction to the practical use of CCDs for graduate students, and a handy reference for more experienced users.

The focus of this book on the selection and application of electrical drives and control systems for electromechanical and mechatronics applications makes it uniquely useful for engineers in industry working with machines and drives. It also serves as a student text for courses on motors and drives, and engineering design courses, especially within mechanical engineering and mechatronics degree programs. The criteria for motor-drive selection are explained, and the main types of drives available to drive machine tools and robots introduced. The author also provides a review of control s
