Due to the changing climate, food security for the increasing population has raised a great threat globally. Therefore, it is imperative to find alternate solutions for enhancing agricultural sustainability through plant stress physiology. The concept of plant stress physiology has been well-established over the past 60 years due to the increasing trends of environmental stress. Researchers have found that crop stress physiology has an association with two main areas, one is concerned with agronomy, the other concerned with plant breeding. The contents of the current book emphasize the integration of both breeding and agronomy strategies to ensure agricultural productivity and environmental safety under changing climate.

The combined observational power of the multiple earth observing satellites is currently not being harnessed holistically to produce more durable societal benefits. We are not able to take complete advantage of the prolific amount of scientific output and remote sensing data that are emerging rapidly from satellite missions and convert them quickly into decision-making products for users. The current application framework we have appears to be an analog one lacking the absorption bandwidth required to handle scientific research and the voluminous (petabyte-scale) satellite data. This book will tackle this question: "How do we change this course and take full advantage of satellite observational capability for a more sustainable, happier and safer future in the coming decades?".

Infrastructure that manages our water resources (such as, dams and reservoirs, irrigation systems, channels, navigation waterways, water and wastewater treatment facilities, storm drainage systems, urban water distribution and sanitation systems), are critical to all sectors of an economy. Realizing the importance of water infrastructures, efforts have already begun on understanding the sustainability and resilience of such systems under changing conditions expected in the future. The goal of this collected work is to raise awareness among civil engineers of the various implications of landscape change and non-climate drivers on the resilience of water management infrastructure. It identifies the knowledge gaps and then provides effective and complementary approaches to assimilate knowledge discovery on local (mesoscale)-to-regional landscape drivers to improve practices on design, operations and preservation of large water infrastructure systems.

This book provides valuable insights on issues pertaining to current macroeconomic policy debates and challenges in Bangladesh. It evaluates various macroeconomic policies and reflects on a future direction in terms of four central themes: (i) Macroeconomic Policy, Growth and Poverty; (ii) Monetary and Fiscal Policy; (iii) International Trade and Finance; and (iii) Finance and Growth. Given its scope, the book will serve as a useful resource for academics and macroeconomic practitioners whose work involves developing countries. Dr Monzur Hossain is a Senior Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies, Dhaka. He has worked with the Bangladesh Bank, academia and research institutes including the Asian Development Bank Institute, Tokyo. He was involved in preparing background studies for the sixth and seventh Five Year Plans of the Government of Bangladesh, and has substantial experience in conducting performance assessments and impact evaluations for organizations such as the UNDP, World Bank, ADB, Bangladesh Bank, USAID and the Government of Japan. He has also worked as an individual consultant to the UNDP, UNCTAD, EU, and the IGC (London School of Economics).

Maize is a staple cereal after wheat and rice. It is an important source of carbohydrate, protein, iron, vitamin B and minerals for many poor people in the world. In developing countries maize is a major source of income in resource-poor farmers. As maize is used both as silage and as crop residue and the grains of maize are usually used for food, starch and oil extraction industrially, the demand for maize is rising day by day. Therefore, it is imperative for improvement of maize to meet the increasing demand. This book entitled "Maize - Production and Use" highlights the importance of maize and the improved management approaches for improving the productivity of maize in the era of changing climate.

"Legal Aspects of the New International Economic Order draws together the results of discussions from the 58th Conference of the International law Association held in Manila in September 1978. Many there, including a number of contributors to this insightful book, felt that proposals for the establishment of a new international economic order bristled with complex legal issues, which merited the serious attention of lawyers. Moved by the conviction that these proposals aimed at restructuring international economic relations and effective a global redistribution of wealth and power, presented a challenge to legal creativity, the Conference adopted a resolution urging the International Law Association to undertake a study of the Legal Aspects of a New International Economic Order. Legal Aspects of the New International Economic Order draws together the papers that came from that study, to offer a fascinating and powerful examination of the legal challenges thrown up by the establishment of this new order."--Bloomsbury Publishing.
