Palazzo Farnese, prestigiosa sede dell'ambasciata di Francia in Italia, ma anche una delle più ricche e fastose dimore nobiliari romane, apre al pubblico le sue porte per presentare sé stesso e la sua storia, attraverso un percorso che vede protagonista l'edificio e le ricchissime collezioni che nei secoli l'hanno reso sede di nobili famiglie e istituzioni di primario livello. Il catalogo, in tutto questo, rappresenta un momento importante di riflessione e studio sul Palazzo, sulle sue collezioni, sui personaggi che ne hanno animato le sale e che continuamente vengono evocati al loro interno, sulle scelte collezionistiche, sulle vicende storiche che lo hanno visto protagonista e tutt'ora ne fanno un centro nevralgico di arti e politica.
