Psychologe Nancy Etcoff analyseert in dit boek diverse aspecten van schoonheid vanuit een biologische invalshoek. Volgens haar worden opvattingen over schoonheid niet cultureel bepaald, is schoonheid geen uitvinding van cosmeticafabrikanten en is het ook niet anti-feministisch om je te laten leiden door schoonheid. In GENDER AND DISCOURSE best-selling and highly respected linguist Deborah Tannen has gathered together five of her essays on language and gender to elaborate the theoretical and empirical framework that underlies her best-selling book, YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND.
