pH Deregulation as the Eleventh Hallmark of Cancer presents key concepts about pH deregulation in a concise and straight-forward manner. The book discusses topics such as pH regulation and metabolism, sodium hydrogen exchanger, monocarboxylate transporter, V-ATPase proton pump, carbonic anhydrases, and voltage gated sodium channels. In addition, it covers clinical and therapeutic implications and future perspectives. This is a valuable resource for researchers, oncologists, students and members of the biomedical and medical fields who want to learn more about the role of pH deregulation in cancer treatment.pH deregulation can improve the outcome of classical treatments without adding toxicity to them, and the book shows that treating the pH peculiarities of cancer is simple and can be performed with existing drugs. Based on the classification of tumor malignancy in ten hallmarks, the authors put pH deregulation at the spotlight and separated from metabolic reprogramming due to its impact on all other hallmarks, proposing it as an additional characteristic to evaluate and fight cancer.Proposes that pH deregulation should be considered as an independent hallmark of cancer from metabolic reprogramming due to its impact on all other hallmarks (based on seminal work of Hanahan and Weinberg)Explains basic issues of cancer pH deregulation and its consequences in a simple and concise mannerDiscusses the subject from the start with very elementary concepts on pH and pH regulation to help readers understand key concepts without proper backgroundPresents key concepts through original illustrations and table for easy comprehension

The present book deals with various, very significant topics of coal fly ash beneficiation, such as treatment of acid mine drainage with coal fly ash, toxic metal adsorption using coal fly ash, recovery of metals from coal fly ash and phytoreclamation of abandoned acid mine drainage site after treatment with coal fly ash, the status of research in coal fly ash utilization and applications and some other related topics in this growing and increasingly important research area. Overall, coal fly ash beneficiation has come to assume an important role in most areas of waste management research today. Continued growth and emphasis on scientific research is expected in all areas of waste management and conversion of waste to wealth technologies.

Positrons can be used to study metallic defects. Positron annihilation experiments have been carried out to identify the defects in complex oxides. Positrons have also been used to study the Bose–Einstein condensation (BEC). Ps-BEC can be used to measure antigravity using atomic interferometers. This Special Issue hopes to bring awareness of the various aspects of positron interactions to the larger physics communities. We invite authors to submit articles from all areas of physics.

The central role of RNA in many cellular processes, in biotechnology, and as pharmaceutical agents, has created an interest in experimental methods applied to RNA molecules. This book provides scientists with a comprehensive collection of thoroughly tested up-to-date manuals for investigating RNA-protein complexes in vitro. The protocols can be performed by researchers trained in standard molecular biological techniques and require a minimum of specialized equipment. The procedures include recommendation of suppliers of reagents.
