This book is devoted to the broad field of Fourier analysis and its applications to several areas of mathematics, including problems in the theory of pseudo-differential operators, partial differential equations, and time-frequency analysis. This collection of 20 refereed articles is based on selected talks given at the international conference “Fourier Analysis and Pseudo-Differential Operators,” June 25–30, 2012, at Aalto University, Finland, and presents the latest advances in the field. The conference was a satellite meeting of the 6th European Congress of Mathematics, which took place in Krakow in July 2012; it was also the 6th meeting in the series “Fourier Analysis and Partial Differential Equations.”.

Progress in Partial Differential Equations is devoted to modern topics in the theory of partial differential equations. It consists of both original articles and survey papers covering a wide scope of research topics in partial differential equations and their applications. The contributors were participants of the 8th ISAAC congress in Moscow in 2011 or are members of the PDE interest group of the ISAAC society. This open access book provides an extensive treatment of Hardy inequalities and closely related topics from the point of view of Folland and Stein's homogeneous (Lie) groups. The place where Hardy inequalities and homogeneous groups meet is a beautiful area of mathematics with links to many other subjects. While describing the general theory of Hardy, Rellich, Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg, Sobolev, and other inequalities in the setting of general homogeneous groups, the authors pay particular attention to the special class of stratified groups. In this environment, the theory of Hardy inequalities becomes intricately intertwined with the properties of sub-Laplacians and subelliptic partial differential equations. The book includes lectures given by the plenary and key speakers at the 9th International ISAAC Congress held 2013 in Krakow, Poland. Since 2019 Ghent Analysis & PDE Center (GAPC) has been organising international workshops, conferences, seminars, and other scientific events covering a wide range of pioneering topics in Analysis and PDEs. In the winter of 2023, the GAPC decided to collect and publish mathematical results presented by women mathematician hosted at the center. This collection, in the form short papers, presented in the current book offers a wide range of state of art in Analysis and PDEs and disseminates the scientific discoveries of GAPC’s visitors and members to scientists outside of the center. The short papers published in current volume in the subseries Research Perspectives Ghent Analysis and PDE Center within the book series Trends in Mathematics are peer-reviewed written versions of the talks presented by women at GAPC events and are grouped accordingly. The current volume is strictly speaking in the realm of pure mathematics, but aims to be of interest not only to scientists in the field, but also to anyone who has an interest to other applied sciences that Analysis and PDEs have applications to. The collection will also include the talks given at the two workshops "Women in Generalised Functions", organised in 2022 and 2023.
