Cet ouvrage présente un ensemble de données, comparables au niveau international, sur les services éducatifs pour les élèves présentant des déficiences, des difficultés et des désavantages sociaux. Il met en lumière les effectifs d’élèves concernés, ainsi que le type d'écoles qui les reçoit – écoles spéciales, classes spéciales ou classes ordinaires –, et ce par niveau d'éducation (pré-primaire, primaire, les premier et deuxième cycles de l'enseignement secondaire). Il renseigne également sur les structures d’accueil et les ratios élèves/enseignants et examine les conséquences pour l'action des gouvernements en direction de ces élèves. L'analyse est basée sur les données à la fois quantitatives et qualitatives communiquées par 28 pays et provinces de l'OCDE. Ce rapport est une mise à jour des statistiques et indicateurs publiés en 2004 sous le titre Équité dans l'enseignement : Élèves présentant des déficiences, des difficultés et des désavantages sociaux.

This book provides an internationally comparable set of indicators on educational provision for students with disabilities, learning difficulties and disadvantages. It looks in detail at the students concerned, where they are educated (special schools, special classes or regular classes) and what their level of education is (pre-primary, primary, lower secondary and upper secondary education). It also includes information on the physical provision and on student/teacher ratios and discusses policy implications concerning special education. The analysis is based on both quantitative and qualitative data provided by 28 OECD countries and a number of provinces. This volume is an updated edition of the statistics and indicators issued in 2004 under the title Equity in Education: Students with Disabilities, Learning Difficulties and Disadvantages.
