Sofrimentos de Amor de Parténio é a única obra completa do autor que chegou à actualidade. Esta selecção de textos de prosa helenística inclui 36 pequenas histórias mitológicas dedicadas ao poeta Cornélio Galo. Este valioso testemunho ilustra a influência da mitologia grega na Cultura Romana em período Republicano tardio e Augustano. As fábulas mitológicas ou pseudo-históricas submetidas à temática do sofrimento de amor (Erotika Pathemata) apresentam-se enquanto resumos de episódios sentimentais extraídos de diversos autores gregos, em geral referidos por Parténio. Outras temáticas, como hospitalidade, traição, secretismo, suicídio, romantismo e paixão, incesto, pedofilia, desejos homoeróticos, necrofilia são igualmente abordadas. The Love Stories of Parthenius is the only wholly extant work of this author. This selection of Hellenistic prose includes 36 short mythological stories dedicated to the poet Cornelius Gallus. This valuable example illustrates the influence of Greek Mythography in late Republican and Augustan Rome. The mythological and pseudo-historical stories on the subject of love suffering (Erotica Pathemata) are presented as summarized sentimental episodes extracted from several Greek authors, generally acknowledged by Parthenius. Other themes such as hospitality, betrayal, secrecy, suicide, romantic love and sexual passion, incest, pedophilia, same-sex desire or necrophilia are also discussed.

Zur zentralen Thematik des Münchener Kolloquiums über "Adel und Bürgertum in Deutschland 1770 - 1848" zählten Untersuchungen zu den gesellschaftlichen Misch- und Kontaktzonen, in denen sich die Trennlinien zwischen Adel und Bürgertum verwischten resp. verfestigten. Das Haupinteresse richtete sich dabei auf den Adel im Süden und Westen Deutschlands, wo die Verbürgerlichung der Gesellschaft sehr viel bessere Chancen besaß als in Altpreußen und in der Habsburgermonarchie. Zu fragen war vor allem: Gab es in den Umbruchs- und Aufbruchsphasen zwischen 1770 und 1848 eine bürgerliche (und bürokratische) Herausforderung des Adels, die eher die Grenzen als die Möglichkeiten der Anpassung im Wandel erkennen ließ? Oder war die adelig-bürgerliche Elitenbildung schon vor 1848 Programm wie Realität? Wie wirklichkeitsnah oder -fern war die liberale Zielvorstellung, mit der eine Einbürgerung des Adels, seine Integration in die bürgerlich-staatsbürgerliche Gesellschaft und seine Einschmelzung in den "allgemeinen Stand" des Bürgertums erwartet wurde? Welchen Stellenwert hatte in diesem Zusammenhang die Adelskrise vor und in der Revolution von 1848?
