"Long Term Evolution (LTE) was originally an internal 3GPP name for a program to enhance the capabilities of 3G radio access networks. The nickname has now evolved to become synonymous with 4G. This book concentrates on 4G systems, also known as LTE-Advanced. Telecommunications engineers and students are provided with a history of these systems, along with an overview of a mobile telecommunications system. The overview addresses the components in the system as well as their function. This resource guides telecommunications engineers though many important aspects of 4G including the air interface physical layer, Radio Access Networks, and 3GPP standardization, to name a few."--

"This book documents the history of four ecclesiastical frescoes completed by artist Benjamin F. Long IV in Ashe County, North Carolina, in the 1970s and 1980s. The story of the Ashe County frescoes celebrates their setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains and testifies to Long's intensity, precision and stamina. Commissioned by the Ashe County Frescoes Foundation, the authors contextualize the artistic and the spiritual aspects of the frescoes by connecting the figures in the scenes with their sources in the Bible. Drawn from extensive interviews with the artist, this book explores the frescoes' uniqueness. Interviews with people used as models, assistants, volunteers and observers focus on the frescoes' impact on the community, and the role of the Ashe County Frescoes Foundation in the protection and preservation of these artworks"--

The prior three editions of this book were extremely well received for use in undergraduate and graduate courses in long-term care administration, and they were also popular as fundamental resources with practitioners as well as for an array of other long-term care practitioners and professions, including housing managers, board members, teachers, students, administrators, owners, and health care professionals who are seeking new directions in the field. This, the fourth edition, has been extensively revised. There is, for example, the fundamental updating throughout to reflect structural and

"Practice guidelines for management of conditions prevalent in long-term geriatric care are based, by and large, on expert consensus and rarely on controlled studies. Though enforced by tradition, some of the rules often applied in clinical practice fall short of scientific foundation. In lacking high-grade scientific evidence, geriatric practice might benefit from an 'evidence-balanced' approach. A step forward in this direction is by corroboration of observational data. In this book, we brought our share of observational data, input from our experience in geriatric care, to be merged with the profession's collective information base. Seventy-five case histories illustrate a variety of conditions met at the bedside, some of them challenging the clinician's expertise and judgement. We hope that illustrating clinical practice in the real-world might be a suitable addition for physicians"--
