L’aide juridique à l’épreuve des faits La loi du 23 novembre 1998 organise l’aide juridique belge autour de la première consultation donnée aux personnes démunies (aide juridique de première ligne) et de leur prise en charge par un avocat (aide juridique de deuxième ligne). Elle a mis en place une commission d’aide juridique dans chaque arrondissement et un bureau d’aide juridique au sein de chaque barreau, donné compétence aux cours et tribunaux du travail pour connaître de cette matière et prévu un système de fi nancement pour rémunérer les avocats et leur permettre de s’organiser. Après neuf ans d’application de la loi, ce livre fait le point sur la pratique des intervenants, la jurisprudence des juridictions de recours et les différentes statistiques recueillies dans l’ensemble des arrondissements du Royaume. Cet ouvrage décrit le fonctionnement actuel de l’aide juridique et apporte des réponses pratiques à tous ses acteurs, en abordant même l’aspect psychologique de la relation entre le justiciable démuni et l’avocat.

The domestic sheep (Ovis aries) and goat (Capra aegagrus hircus) are small ruminant species widely distributed throughout the world. They were among the first animals to be domesticated. Owing to their small stature and versatility, sheep and goats still are one of the most important food source in many arid regions. Traditionally, autochthonous breeds with a strong milk production seasonality were reared in extensive production systems, on a smallholder farming basis. The huge number and variety of their dairy products reflect the different cultures and traditions of vast areas of the world. However, today the traditional ovine and caprine dairy production chain, from farmers to exporters, is facing the challenges of innovation, sustainability, safety, and productivity, while at the same time protecting each product’s individual characteristics. This Special Issue is dedicated to the field of ovine and caprine dairy production with ground-breaking perspectives and approaches, from physical-chemistry studies on milk and dairy, to new feeding strategies, herd management, nutritional quality, animal welfare, sustainability, and omics studies.

This book focuses on the contemporary challenges faced by rural areas across the globe. De Europese richtlijn 2004/48/EC beoogde een hoog, gelijkwaardig en homogeen niveau van bescherming van de intellectuele eigendomsrechten te introduceren in alle lidstaten van de Europese Unie. De Belgische implementatie van de richtlijn ligt intussen 10 jaar achter ons. In het boek en tijdens de bijhorende studiedag wordt een overzicht gegeven van de omzetting, zowel in de wetgeving als in de rechtspraak, en wordt nagegaan hoe het nu met de handhaving van de intellectuele eigendomsrechten in ons land gesteld is. Het boek wordt gekenmerkt door een veelheid van auteurs met diverse juridische achtergronden, zoals academici, magistraten en advocaten. Zij bespreken verschillende relevante onderwerpen en trachten een inzicht te verschaffen in kwesties zoals : Het mededelen van persoonsgegevens en het recht op informatie ; Het oplegging van maatregelen tegen tussenpersonen ; De maatregelen die de stakingsrechter kan uitspreken ; De openbaarmaking van rechtelijke uitspraken ; De doeltreffendheid van arbitrage in geschillen over intellectuele rechten ; De kosten en erelonen in geschillen over intellectuele rechten. Cela fait maintenant 10 ans que cette directive a été transposée en droit belge. Dans le livre et lors de la journée d'étude, nous donnons un aperçu de cette transposition, tant dans la législation que dans la jurisprudence, et examinons ce qu’il advient du respect des droits de propriété intellectuelle dans notre pays. Le livre rassemble une multitude de théoriciens du droit issus d’horizons différents, que ce soit des universitaires, des magistrats ou des avocats.
