Abstract

New Dominant Logic of Marketing verstanden.

Abstract

Sexual health campaigns to tackle the rise in sexually transmitted infections in England are at the core of sexual health charities' and grassroots organizations' work. Some of them collaborated with the author's translation students to produce inclusive translations of their sexual health content (website and multimedia content). The role of translation and localization within multicultural contexts can be seen as 'social activism' promoting sexual health and community engagement, with a view to providing wider healthcare access and information using inclusive language. This Element presents students' approaches to sexual health translation, using language as a vessel for change and striking a balance between clients' expectations, translation industry best practices, and socio-educational needs. The data analysis of the students' experiences will make the case for wider embedding of queer pedagogy approaches into the translation curriculum.

Abstract

This books focuses on all main medical disorders that affect the sexual health of patients. From the medical disorder and its impact on sexuality and from the sexual symptom as signal of underlying disease, this book highlights the importance of the sexual interview as essential element of medical history. The aim is to increase the scientific knowledge in human sexuality and sexual health in order to optimize the identification of the pathophysiology of sexual dysfunction from disease and to increase the quality of life of patients, promoting the proactivity of doctors in the care of the sexual sphere. Many medical disorders have negative effects on the different dominions of sexual function (desire, arousal, orgasm, ejaculation, and pain). Chronic disease also affects subsidiarily sexual function in many ways, including fatigue, pain, dependency impairment of self-image and impacting relationships. On the other hand sexual symptoms may be a signal of serious underlying disease. This book will be of benefit to GPs, gynecologists, andrologists, sexual medicine professionals, and all healthcare providers interested in the topic. .

Abstract

This dissertation by Sofia Hammarström explores the risk of sexual ill health among young people, focusing on Swedish youth clinics' efforts to identify and address these risks. The study aims to develop a risk-assessment model for chlamydia and implement an evidence-based tool, SEXIT, to identify risks related to sexually transmitted infections, unintended pregnancies, and sexual violence. Using a mixed methods approach, the research includes data analysis from a national sample of young people and pilot implementation of SEXIT in youth clinics. The findings indicate that SEXIT is effective in facilitating discussions about sexual health and identifying multiple risk factors. The tool is shown to improve the consistency and quality of care provided by clinic staff, fostering trust and openness among clinic visitors. The intended audience includes healthcare professionals and researchers in public health and youth services.
