The Journal of Educational Measurement (JEM) is a quarterly journal that publishes original measurement research, reports on new measurement instruments, reviews of measurement publications, and reports about innovative measurement applications. The topics addressed are of interest to those concerned with the practice of measurement in field settings as well as researchers and measurement theorists. In addition to presenting new contributions to measurement theory and practice, JEM also serves as a vehicle for improving educational measurement applications in a variety of settings.

« L'influence grandissante du monde économique sur l'école occidentale a favorisé la création d'une multitude d'indicateurs et d'évaluations censés rendre compte de l'efficacité des systèmes éducatifs. Les résultats des épreuves internationales comme PISA ainsi que les classements internationaux qu'ils entrainent influencent les politiques éducatives et les pratiques enseignantes. Raising hopes for disease treatment and prevention, but also the specter of discrimination and "designer genes ", genetic testing is potentially one of the most socially explosive developments of our time. This book presents a current assessment of this rapidly evolving field, offering principles for actions and research and recommendations on key issues in genetic testing and screening.
