Breed overzicht van de meest voorkomende chemische analysemethoden en technieken. Methoden en technieken zoals zuur/base titraties, oxidimetrie, argentometrie, UV-VIS spectrometrie, atomaire absorptiespectrometrie, infrarood-, massa- en kernmagnetische resonantie-spectrometrie, elektrochemische bepalingen en moderne scheidingsmethoden komen aan de orde. De auteurs besteden ook aandacht aan monstervoorbewerking en foutenanalyse. Het brede overzicht gaat wel ten koste van de diepgang. Van een aantal meetprincipes wordt een beknopte achtergrond gegeven; voor echt begrip heeft de lezer een uitvoeriger beschrijving nodig. Maar de klassieke analysemethoden zoals acidimetrie zijn prima beschreven. In het massaspectrometriehoofdstuk komt helaas een aantal fouten voor. Het boek is voorzien van oefenopgaven; de uitwerkingen zijn op www.mlochemie.nl te vinden.
