An important tool in risk management is the implementation of risk measures. We study dynamic models where risk measures and dynamic risk measures can be applied. In particular, we solve various portfolio optimization problems and introduce a class of dynamic risk measures via the notion of Markov decision processes. Using Bayesian control theory we furthermore derive an extension of the latter setting when we face model uncertainty.

Mechanical fasteners, so-called insert, offer the opportunity to allow for an inexpensive, detachable connection of thin-walled carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) parts to metal- or other plastic-based structures in the context of multi-material design. The present work is comprised of a systematic comparison of both insert types under near-application load conditions, whereby the strength as well as the damage behavior were evaluated.

Seit ihrer Gründung ist die Europäische Gemeinschaft hin- und hergerissen zwischen einer marktwirtschaftlichen und einer interventionistischen Wirtschaftsordnung. Über einen Zeitraum von 1955 bis heute wird die französische Europapolitik in dieser Arbeit auf ihre ordnungspolitischen Konstanten und deren Ursprungsmotive untersucht. Frankreich hat sich beharrlich für die Errichtung einer makroökonomischen Gesamtsteuerung in Europa eingesetzt. Statt an die Selbstheilungskräfte des Marktes zu glauben, hat sich die französische Europapolitik dem wirtschaftlichen Allgemeininteresse verschrieben, dessen Verwirklichung aus französischer Sicht ohne staatliche Interventionen in den Wirtschaftsablauf nicht denkbar ist. Die Ursprungsmotive der französischen Binnenmarktpolitik werden über die Wirtschaftsstilanalyse auf die Wertewelt und den Vernunftglauben der französischen Aufklärung zurückgeführt.

Polymer solar cells can be produced by a continuous low cost coating and drying process. This work details a specialized experimental set-up to enable large scale roll to roll processing. Material properties such as surface energy, surface tension, and viscosity are presented and modelled. The impact of coating method, as well as process parameters (e.g. coating speed, shear rate, solvent composition) on process stability and film properties, is discussed.

This work is a comprehensive analysis of the decal process for production of catalyst coated membranes. Both the process window for the transfer of electrodes from decal foil onto membrane and the effects of the parameters of ink and transfer process on structure and function including process reproducibility shall be investigated. A major component of all those aspects is the selection, implementation and assessment of appropriate characterization methods.
