Cherishing Life attempts to give a Catholic perspective on some fundamental moral issues relating to the moral and spiritual well-being of the human person in society, especially those issues touching the value and protection of human life. In the second section ("Loving tenderly") the bishops pay particular attention to marriage, which they uphold as as the model of faithful and committed union between a man and a woman, and the ideal contect for the raising of children.
