Abstract

Bron : http://www.managementboek.nl

Abstract

In order to survive in increasing environmental turbulence and uncertainty in the business context, organizations have to reconsider and revise their strategies frequently. But not all of them manage to detect and interpret environmental changes and, if necessary, react adequately. Based on 50 interviews with top managers, Daniel Kauer studies the effects of managerial experiences on the strategic sensemaking of top management teams. He shows that it is very important to distinguish between the depth and breadth of managerial experience, as these discrete dimensions have different effects on strategic sensemaking on the individual as well as on the organizational level. While diversity represents a team’s potential to be successful in strategic sensemaking, the team must realize this potential through effective interaction. Therefore, the author also analyzes decisive interaction factors and describes how teams can best leverage their members’ experience.

Abstract

The first step towards success in a software project is to ensure a professional setup. This includes a metrics-based formal estimation process to ensure a solid foundation for project planning. Accurate estimates require quantitative measurements, ideally tool based. In addition, software project managers must also monitor and update these estimates during the project’s lifecycle to control progress and assess possible risks. Based on their many years of practical experience as software managers and consultants, Manfred Bundschuh and Carol Dekkers present a framework of value to anyone involved with software project management. They present all five ISO/IEC-acknowledged Functional Sizing Methods, with variants, experiences, counting rules and case studies, and they use numerous practical examples to show how to use functional size measurement to produce realistic estimates. Written in a highly practical style, including checklists, templates, and hands-on advice, and backed up with many pointers to both national and international metrics and standards organizations, this book is the ideal companion for the busy software project manager or quality assurance manager.

Abstract

Recognizing the increasing importance of environmental issues, energy prices, material availability and efficiency and the difficulty of adequately managing these issues in traditional accounting systems, several companies all over the world have started implementing Environmental and Material Flow Cost Accounting (EMA and MFCA). "Environmental and Material Flow Costs Accounting" explains and updates the approach developed for the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DSD/UNDESA) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and in addition includes experiences of several case studies and recent developments regarding EMA and MFCA in national statistics and ISO standardization. Although it is aimed primarily at professional accountants, process technicians and environmental managers within production companies, it will also be of interest to environmental auditors who are becoming more involved in tracking or verifying environment-related information in financial and other relevant reports. Those involved with environmental management and cleaner technologies, production planning and organization, as well as management accounting and sustainability reporting will undoubtedly find this Work to be an invaluable guide in acquiring practical advice.
