Choose an application
A comprehensive manual on the creation of 3D typography using cnc (computer numerical control) machines, this richly illustrated book addresses the fact that, since moveable type became obsolete, the 3D aspects of production have all but disappeared. Although numerous typefaces exist today, almost none is specifically intended for 3D realisation. Author Edo Smitshuijzen created several 3D typefaces himself, simply because there were no designs available to show possible applications. Striving to make this field of the profession more accessible, he explains basic technologies, discusses production options and problems, and showcases new designs.
