Bron : http://www.bol.com

This book challenges our age-old assumption that trust is merely a soft, social virtue, and instead demonstrates that it is a hard-edged, economic driver--a learnable and measurable skill that makes organizations more profitable, people more promotable, and relationships more energizing. CEO Covey informs readers how to inspire lasting trust in their personal and professional relationships, and in so doing to create unparalleled success and sustainable prosperity in every dimension of life. He shows business, government, and education leaders how to quickly and permanently gain the trust of their clients, coworkers, partners, and constituents. Like a ripple in the pond, trust begins within each of us personally, continues into our relationships, expands into our organizations, extends into our marketplace relationships, and ultimately encompasses our global society. Covey presents a road map to establish trust on every level, build character and competence, enhance credibility, and create leadership that inspires confidence.--From publisher description.

The recent emphasis on accountability in policy and practice for individuals with learning and behavioral disabilities has placed a renewed focus on issues in assessment. However, assessment in itself is of little value unless it leads to more effective and systematic interventions. In this volume, a distinguished group of international authors provide important insights on recent advances on assessment and intervention, and the relation between the two. Included in this volume are chapters on curriculum based measurement and response to intervention, dynamic assessment and working memory, diagnostic accuracy and functional diagnosis, assessment of social behavior, assessment and intervention in reading and writing, assessment and treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and assessment and intervention in social and emotional competence and self-determination. Taken together, these chapters provide significant new information that will be of interest to graduate students, clinicians, teachers, and other professionals concerned with effective assessment and intervention for individuals with learning and behavioral disabilities.

Do professions really place duty to society above clients' or their own interests? If not, how can they be trusted? While some public relations (PR) scholars claim that PR serves society and enhances the democratic process, others suggest that it is little more than propaganda, serving the interests of global corporations. This is not an argument about definitions, but about ethics - yet this topic is barely explored in texts and theories that seek to explain PR and its function in society. This book places PR ethics in the wider context of professional ethics and the sociology of professions. By bringing together literature from fields beyond public relations - sociology, professional and philosophical ethics, and Jungian psychology - it integrates a new body of ideas into the debate. The unprecedented introduction of Jungian psychology to public relations scholarship shifts the debate beyond a traditional Western 'Good/Bad' ethical dichotomy towards a new holistic approach, with dynamic implications for theory and practice. This thought-provoking book will be essential reading for students, academics and professionals with an interest in public relations, ethics and professionalism.Bron : http://www.routledge.com

How can we design circular business models? How can we organize the transition from a linear to a circular economy? And how can we imagine circular futures that help us transform current realities? This book aims to provide answers to these questions while addressing the challenges and opportunities of the circular economy. The authors reflect on why conventional sustainability models ? such as the ?triple P? (People, Profit and Planet) or eco-efficiency ? have failed in addressing environmental challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. They then move on to explore innovative circular business models, which propose to eliminate environmental damage by radically reforming the system of industrial production. Organizing the transition is a collaborative effort: entrepreneurs, consumers, policymakers, multinationals and intermediaries need to work together to foster the emergence of the circular economy as an institutional field. Together with younger generations of learners and equipped with beyond-human-centred values towards awareness of the material and natural world, novel circular futures can be imagined.Offering points of reference for continued critical discourse and examples of practically applicable sustainability solutions, this book will be of great interest to students, teachers, practitioners and scholars of circular economy.Bron: www.amazon.nl
