Summability is an extremely fruitful area for the application of functional analysis; this volume could be used as a source for such applications. Those parts of summability which only have ``hard'' (classical) proofs are omitted; the theorems given all have ``soft'' (functional analytic) proofs.

The contributions collected in this volume exhibit the increasingly wide spectrum of applications of abstract order theory in analysis and show the possibilities of order-theoretical argumentation. The following areas are discussed: potential theory, partial differential operators of second order, Schrodinger operators, theory of convexity, one-parameter semigroups, Lie algebras, Markov processes, operator-algebras, noncommutative integration and geometry of Banach spaces.

Transform Analysis of Generalized Functions concentrates on finite parts of integrals, generalized functions and distributions. It gives a unified treatment of the distributional setting with transform analysis, i.e. Fourier, Laplace, Stieltjes, Mellin, Hankel and Bessel Series. Included are accounts of applications of the theory of integral transforms in a distributional setting to the solution of problems arising in mathematical physics. Information on distributional solutions of differential, partial differential equations and integral equations is conveniently collected here. The volume will serve as introductory and reference material for those interested in analysis, applications, physics and engineering.

This book is a systematic treatment of barrelled spaces, and of structures in which barrelledness conditions are significant. It is a fairly self-contained study of the structural theory of those spaces, concentrating on the basic phenomena in the theory, and presenting a variety of functional-analytic techniques. Beginning with some basic and important results in different branches of Analysis, the volume deals with Baire spaces, presents a variety of techniques, and gives the necessary definitions, exploring conditions on discs to ensure that they are absorbed by the barrels of the space. The abstract theory of barrelled spaces is then presented, as well as local completeness and its applications to the inheritance of the Mackey topology to subspaces. Further discussed is the abstract study of bornological and ultrabornological spaces; B- and B-completeness; inductive limits; strong barrelledness conditions; characterizations of barrelled, bornological and (DF)-spaces in the context of spaces of type C(X); the stability of barrelledness conditions of topological tensor products and the related questions of commutability of inductive limits and tensor products; and the holomorphically significant properties of locally convex spaces as developed by Nachbin and others.
